2 Act or Not 2 Act

Good morning lovely followers!
This week's blog is written by cast member, Hannah Whyman, who plays Nell's mother and brothel madam - 'Old Ma Gwynn'.

HANNAH: " Greetings all! After a busy week we're back in the rehearsal room. From the full run in our previous rehearsal, we decided it was best to focus on the second act of the play. In this act there are a lot of high energy, emotional scenes that take a lot of preparation to get right. After placing in the newly learnt "Bonjour, Bon journee" choreography and a special thanks to Emma's hips, we were off!

A run through of the Act, notes and walk through working on the notes given, it was a challenging afternoon for the company. Lots of exciting things discovered which I can't wait for you to see in July!

To end our ATS adventure for the week, we had a company trip to the Globe to see.. you guessed it Nell Gwynn! A wonderfully comic performance from their cast and a chat with the one and only Jessica Swale herself, (The playwright) we are now even more inspired than ever.

Until next time!

Ma Gwynn Out! "

Here's what a few of our cast had to say about seeing 'Nell Gwynn' at the Globe...

- 'A fab play with a phenomenal set and stellar cast'

- ' Fantastic moments of comedy and clarity'

- 'Inspiring to see the company's final show and to meet the playwright, Jessica Swale. Now can't wait to perform our show to an audience in July!!'

- 'It was great to watch the show and see different interpretations of our characters'

- ' Wonderful performances - particularly from Monni the King Charles Spaniel!!'
